TVB "Palace Heart Struggles" Episode 24 Plot:
The 2009 TVB October anniversary grand presentation of the full series of the period drama "Palace Heart Struggles," starring Charmaine Sheh, Kenneth Chan, and Fiona Yim.
Plot Summary:
Set against the backdrop of the Tang Dynasty palace, the story revolves around the power struggles within the four departments responsible for preparing the Empress's attire. Using the Tang Dynasty harem as a setting, it delves into the intricacies and scheming of the women in the harem. Charmaine Sheh plays the role of palace maid Liu Sanhao, who, with her "three goodnesses" spirit—having good intentions, speaking well, and doing good deeds—manages to rise above the complex power struggles in the palace and develops a romantic relationship with Kenneth Chan that mirrors the love story of "Dae Jang Geum" and Minister Min.
Liu Sanhao (played by Charmaine Sheh) and Yao Jinling (played by Fiona Yim) are sworn sisters in the palace. As lowly palace maids, they are frequently given menial tasks. The harem is controlled by four departments: the Food Department headed by Tan Yanshang (played by Rebecca Ho), the Embroidery Department led by Zhong Xuexia (played by Snowflake Yeung), the Decoration Department managed by Hu Su'en (played by Queenie Yuen), and the Jewelry Department overseen by Ruan Cuiyun (played by Michelle Lam). These four are constantly vying for power and position, leading to endless conflicts. Innocent Sanhao and Jinling are even forced to become scapegoats. Despite enduring numerous hardships, Sanhao remains steadfast in her principles, while Jinling, having suffered much abuse, sets out for revenge. During one opportunity while serving Emperor Li Yi (played by Aaron Yeung), Jinling secretly seduces him, eventually becoming Consort Li, and begins a rivalry with Consort Wan Baoxian (played by Grace Lee). Meanwhile, Sanhao, with her clever hands and kind heart, rises to become the head of the palace department. When both Sanhao and Jinling gain significant influence, their sisterly bond breaks due to their mutual affection for palace guard Gao Xianyang (played by Kenneth Chan). While Jinling seeks to punish the four departments, Sanhao chooses forgiveness and protects them. Jinling then uses this situation to persecute Sanhao...
