Plot Introduction:

Set against the backdrop of the Tang Dynasty palace, it tells the story of the open rivalry within the four chambers responsible for preparing the Empress's attire. Using the Tang Dynasty harem as its setting, it reveals the affairs and machinations of the women in the harem. Charmaine Sheh plays the maid Liu Sanhao, who, relying on the "three good" spirit of "having good intentions, speaking well, and doing good deeds," rises to prominence amidst the complex struggles in the harem, and develops a romantic relationship with her "rumored couple" Karl Ngai that somewhat resembles the love between Dae Jang Geum and Min Jeong Ho.

Liu Sanhao (Charmaine Sheh) and Yao Jinling (Fiona Yim) are a pair of sworn sisters in the palace. As small maids, they are frequently dispatched. At the time, the harem was controlled by four departments: Tan Yan Chang (Anita Yuen), in charge of fine cuisine; Zhong Xue Xia (Sally Yeh), responsible for embroidered garments; Hu Su En (Janet Yuen), managing decorations; and Ruan Cuiyun (Kate Law), handling jewelry. These four vie for power and position, their struggles never ceasing. Innocent Sanhao and Jinling are even forced to become scapegoats. Despite enduring numerous hardships, Sanhao remains steadfast in her "three goods" spirit, while Jinling, having endured endless bullying, resolves to take revenge. Once, while serving Emperor Li Yi (Aaron Kwok), she secretly seduces him and becomes Consort Li, engaging in rivalries with Consort Xian Wan Baoxian (Emily Li). Meanwhile, Sanhao, with her dexterous hands and clever mind, becomes the Chief Palace Maid. When both Sanhao and Jinling hold power, their sisterly bond fractures. It turns out both have feelings for the palace guard Gao Xianyang (Karl Ngai). Jinling seeks to punish the four departments, but Sanhao repays their enmity with kindness and strives to protect the four. Jinling then uses this opportunity to persecute Sanhao...
