Rumors spread online that the CET4 and CET6 exams will be re-administered due to exam paper leaks, with the test date set for February 30th, 2012. Is the news of the retest true or false? Netizens have engaged in heated discussions:

Pingliang Weather: I think there won't be a retest.

One: It's the Chinese way of behavior; even if someone makes a mistake, no one admits it but instead tries every means to cover it up.

Two: Information on the internet isn't necessarily authoritative.

Three: Opposition voices are louder; despite students not passing, they don't want to take the exam again.

According to Xinhua News Agency, this year's second half national college English fourth and sixth level exams ended on December 17th. The Ministry of Education stated yesterday that currently no incidents of leaks or large-scale disciplinary violations and cheating have been discovered, and the overall situation of the exam is stable.

Based on reports from various regions, during this exam, Tianjin, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Jiangxi, Henan, Hunan, Chongqing, Guizhou, and other provinces broke up 14 cheating gangs; various regions arrested a total of 45 suspected illegal personnel who were transmitting harmful information during the exam period, including four individuals who posted PS-ed pictures through Weibo, Tieba, etc., or exploited Internet technology loopholes to post messages before the exam and then modified their posts after the exam, confusing public opinion and spreading rumors, seriously damaging the reputation of the exam. Currently, relevant departments are handling these individuals according to relevant regulations.

Responsible persons from relevant departments of the Ministry of Education expressed that the National College English Fourth and Sixth Level Exams involve a large number of participants and have significant social impact. Regarding situations related to the exam, media should carefully verify before reporting.

The Ministry of Education would not allow another chance for a retest, and wouldn't damage the interests of the majority for just a few people. That's how it is, there won't be, nor is it possible to have, a retest.

Lawyer Shangxide: COCO: Did you watch the "News Broadcast"? The Ministry of Education has set the retest time for the fourth and sixth levels on February 30th, 2012.

Yishen Shen: So~ the talk about retesting is all rumors~ rumors! We're already busy with final exams, and now we have to take it again? Meh~ //@Ci: If there's a retest, it'll be soon. I suddenly realized that next February only has 29 days. //@Yishen Shen: Seems like the retest is said to be on February 30th next year... //@Ci: Then it's hard to say. My English isn't that good, so if my English was better, I wouldn't fear any retests.

CiCi: Heard that #CET# is going to be retested? Damn, didn't the Education Bureau officially state that there was no leak? How come some people are saying there will be a retest? Damn, what do you guys actually eat for doing this?
