Recently, a Sina Weibo user with the username "Wuhan Patapon" who has been verified by Weibo released a recruitment notice claiming to be recruiting a live-in maid for a 17-year-old otaku. Yesterday, the reporter contacted the blogger Huang Yufei, who lives in the Shuanghuqiao neighborhood of Wuchang District's Guohu community, and learned that more than 30 girls have already attended interviews, and the employer is considering signing a labor contract with one of them. The base salary is 3,000 yuan per month, no housework required but the role of a maid must be played.

In this Weibo recruitment announcement, the reporter saw the following requirements: "Must wear a maid outfit, live in the master's house, call the employer 'master', accompany the master to watch anime, no need to wash clothes or cook, just brew tea, serve tea, and take care of the master's daily life." The compensation for the maid was also clearly stated: "With a contract, includes three insurances, weekend double rest, base salary over 3,000 yuan, and various bonuses based on performance."

No housework is required, but the applicant must dress as a maid to serve oneself. Why would a 17-year-old boy have such a requirement? Huang Yufei said that in Japanese anime and game-related works, maids are considered to have the "moe" attribute, usually portrayed by young women wearing aprons, calling the other party "master." He himself is the owner of a chain store of maid cafes, where all the waitresses dress as maids. He claims to have three chain stores in Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and Wuhan, and has long recruited part-time and full-time maids for the store. However, this is the first time he is helping a friend recruit a private live-in maid. Appearance should be "moe," personal safety guaranteed by contract.

Huang Yufei revealed that this recruitment of a private maid was commissioned by a friend within the circle. The boy is 17 years old, comes from an affluent family, and is currently attending university. Because he loves role-playing in anime games, he hopes to hire a private maid. However, he refused to disclose detailed personal information and contact details about the boy.

Huang Yufei stated that the ability to speak both Chinese and English is required because "the employer prefers British-style maids, so it is hoped that the candidate can speak English." Girls should ideally be familiar with anime games and perform their roles well during work. "Appearance does not need to be exceptionally beautiful, but it must be pure, preferably the currently popular 'moe' loli type, with golden or red long curly hair."

Huang Yufei emphasized repeatedly that this employer is purely an anime enthusiast, hiring a private maid does not involve any sexual connotations, which is commonly referred to as "physical transactions." These can be clearly marked in the signed labor contract, so the safety concerns raised by netizens do not exist.

More than 30 female college students applied, most of whom are anime enthusiasts

The reporter discovered yesterday upon logging into the "Wuhan Patapon" Weibo account that this recruitment announcement has been forwarded nearly 1,500 times, with over 160 netizens replying to this recruitment notice. Among the comments, there are those interested in the job, while more onlookers question the safety of this job.

Huang Yufei stated that he and the employer have already interviewed more than 30 girls, most of whom are anime enthusiasts, including recent college graduates and current university students. Huang Yufei revealed that the employer has already decided to sign a labor contract with a third-year female student, who is currently revising the contract details.

The reporter questioned whether Huang Yufei's actions were a form of "Weibo marketing" for his own maid cafe. Huang Yufei denied this. He admitted that if there are suitable candidates who did not pass this recruitment, he would invite them to work at the maid cafe, "but the benefits at the cafe are obviously not as generous as those of a private maid, with a monthly salary of only 2,000 yuan."

Upon consulting a lawyer, the reporter learned that this recruitment notice is essentially similar to finding a nanny, and falls under an employment relationship. If the service content does not involve pornography and is merely a personal preference, the law will not intervene. Applicants can specify acceptable non-pornographic boundaries in the contract with the employer, which will facilitate resolving disputes if they arise.
