Plot of "The Storm of October": The film is presented in semi-fictional form and tells the story of 1905 when local righteous merchants protected Sun Yat-sen from being assassinated by assassins sent by the Qing government. Within a day, they invited a group of highly skilled benevolent and brave individuals to escort Sun Yat-sen back to Guangzhou. These people came from all walks of life and each possessed extraordinary skills. The movie narrates the events of October 15, 1905, where revolutionaries from all over—merchants, beggars, cart drivers, students, gamblers, and theater troupes—fought fiercely in Central, Hong Kong, thwarting an assassination attempt and protecting Sun Yat-sen. The righteous merchant responsible for hosting him knew that a group of assassins sent by the Qing government were planning an assassination, so he immediately hired a team of highly skilled bodyguards to ensure safe passage, eventually successfully escorting Sun Yat-sen safely back to Guangzhou.

Over the past four years, Derek Yee continuously sought funding. Recently, with the help of producer Peter Chan, the funds have been secured, and filming is expected to commence in mid-March. The cast may include Leon Lai, Donnie Yan, Aaron Kwok, along with some South Korean stars like Go Soo and Ji Jin-hee, with an investment cost of about 150 million yuan.

This film was ready to go in 2004, and several million yuan had already been spent building an old Central Hong Kong set in Guangzhou. The cast was also confirmed to include Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Andy Lau, and Eason Chan, but unfortunately, the backstage boss Zeng Xianji committed suicide, leaving the film without sufficient funding, leading to its postponement. After securing new investments this time, the old Central Hong Kong set, which has already cost around 30 million yuan, appears even more realistic.
