Introduction of the plot of [Love Afterlife]:
Yu Feihong spent ten years perfecting "Love Afterlife," a work of conviction. Yu Feihong wrote, directed, and starred in this film alongside Duan Yihong, Gao Hu, Yao Lu, Li Jia, Tu Songyan, and Gao Hu. The movie received strong support from Wang Shuo, Tsui Hark, and Jiang Wen. Together, they crafted the grand 2009 production, an ancient costume version of "Ghost" titled "Love Afterlife." The story takes place under a ginkgo tree, exploring whether unrequited love from a past life can be rekindled in this one, and if past promises will still be remembered.
The story tells of Ajiu and Aming from their previous lives who could not be together due to the hatred between their two families. Aming became a monk but ultimately met his demise. In their final confrontation, both Ajiu and Aming died under a thousand-year-old ginkgo tree. Before dying, Ajiu made a pact with Aming to meet again in their next life, where she would return to the ginkgo tree to find him, no matter what forms they took. Free from all past grudges, they would fully and truly love each other once more...
After her death, Ajiu quickly reincarnated... However, Aming, fearing that Ajiu might come looking for him at the ginkgo tree, dared not leave, missing the opportunity to reincarnate. As a result, he could only linger as a ghost, waiting in the cycle of rebirth for Ajiu to appear in this life... But he could only remain on the path of rebirth for fifty years...
