"When Happiness Comes Knocking" Plot:

Chris Gardner (Will Smith), a young black man living in San Francisco, supports his wife and young child as a salesman. Chris never felt that life was particularly happy, nor particularly painful, just like millions of other ordinary American men living a plain life, until one day, a series of sudden changes made Chris realize how precious the plain days were.

First, he lost his job; company layoffs left him unemployed. From then on, Chris faced a series of major blows. His wife, unable to endure the long-term poverty, angrily left home, taking their one-year-old son (Jaden Smith) with her. Not long after, his wife returned their son to Chris, leaving Chris not only to face unemployment but also to independently raise his son. Soon after, due to long-term non-payment of rent, Chris was evicted by the landlord, and he ended up homeless with his son. In the following two or three years, this unfortunate father and son moved from a cardboard box to public restrooms. Chris faced difficulties with resilience, doing odd jobs to make money while also striving to cultivate an optimistic attitude in his child, allowing them to live happily despite hardships.

One day, Chris met a man driving a luxury sports car in the parking lot. Chris asked him what kind of work would allow him to live such a life. The man told him that he was a stockbroker, and from that moment on, Chris decided to become an outstanding stockbroker so that he and his son could live a good life. With no knowledge of stocks, Chris relied on perseverance to become an apprentice at a Wall Street stock firm, quickly mastering the knowledge of the stock market with his sharp mind. Subsequently, he opened his own stock brokerage company and eventually became a millionaire.

Throughout his journey, Chris experienced many setbacks, but his young son always gave him the greatest encouragement. The father and son supported each other, ultimately achieving another American dream.
