Eighty Days Around the Earth is a famous science fiction novel by Jules Verne. The novel tells the story of Phileas Fogg, a British gentleman, who wagers 20,000 pounds with his friends to circumnavigate the globe and return to London within eighty days. Unfortunately, he is mistakenly identified as a thief who stole from the Bank of England and becomes wanted by Scotland Yard.

Despite this, Fogg and his servant Passepartout overcome numerous obstacles during their journey. They travel through the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, and the Atlantic Ocean, visiting places such as India, Singapore, China, Japan, and the United States. When they finally complete their trip around the world and return to London, they are five minutes late, leading Fogg to believe he has failed. However, he unexpectedly wins due to the time difference gained from traveling eastward around the world, which effectively saves him one day.

Throughout the journey, Fogg's intelligence, bravery, and perseverance demonstrate the quintessential gentlemanly demeanor. In the end, he wins the heart of the beautiful Aouda, a widow he rescued from a forced funeral pyre in India.
