In the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam, our tank battalion suffered heavy losses from the attacks of Vietnam's anti-tank special forces, the Flying Fists. Under the command of Battalion Commander Xiao Jun, a detachment of our tanks employed unconventional tactics and infiltrated behind enemy lines through Snake Valley towards Ban Gang. The experienced Vietnamese special forces captain, Mr. Nguyen, had placed informants in Snake Valley and ordered the Flying Fists to head there. On the way, Battalion Commander Xiao Jun encountered Shi Gang, a PLA soldier who narrowly escaped from the jaws of death, as well as Vietnamese guerrilla fighters, Mr. and Mrs. A Jian and A Huan. To protect the troops in Snake Valley, our division commander ordered the elimination of the Flying Fists. Enraged by this, Captain Nguyen ordered the floodgates to be opened to release a deluge. However, our vanguard company successfully crossed the flooded river. Shi Gang held onto an informant strapped with explosives, while A Huan made a heroic sacrifice.
