Ultraman Taro

Suddenly, a super monster Dulinca appeared at Tokyo Port. The young man, Dong Guangtao, stood out and fought alone to defeat the monster. He was then valued by the S.H.I.N.E team and became one of its members. Later on, he sacrificed his life in another battle against the monsters. At this moment, Mother Ultra gave Taero's life to Dong Guangtao. Mother Ultra and the Ultra Brothers made appearances one after another, showing the charm of modern mythological stories.

It seems that Taero Ultraman can be considered the most humorous of all the Ultra series. In all the series, not including movies and commercial information clips, Taero Ultraman is the son of Father Ultra and Mother Ultra. Despite being killed several times, such as when Taero's head was cut off by the monster Emarg or when he was stabbed to death by Batton, he received help many times from Mother Ultra, his father, and his brothers. However, it is clear that Taero is also a strong Ultra warrior. By Guangtao's side, there is a girl who loves him, named Shiratori Sachiko (hereinafter referred to as Sachiko). She is a member of the Shiratori family, and she met Guangtao because he moved into the Shiratori family. Guangtao is an amateur boxer. In one episode, he bravely, or some might say recklessly, rode on the back of the monster Aesthmon. But incidentally, I have never understood why Sachiko always frowns and puffs her cheeks whenever she gets angry.

The biggest feature of the S.H.I.N.E team is that they often come up with many novel and unexpected tactics to defeat the monsters, surpassing even the Science Special Search Party. For example, they sprinkle pepper to make King Rebbu sneeze while Guangtao and the puppy Pochi were swallowed into his stomach; they put the mini Totoras into a giant basket for transportation. The various weapons and equipment of the S.H.I.N.E team are quite flashy. The RabbitCat vehicle, with its enhanced horsepower, is a top-notch product of technology at the time. The Sky Whale air fighter has a cool name but looks very slender, making it hard to associate with any features of a whale. There is also an interesting point: Captain Asahina is less serious than the previous generations of captains, and most of the time, Deputy Captain Arakabe leads the whole team. During this period, no one knows where Captain Asahina has gone. Also, near the end of the series, Deputy Captain Arakabe seemed to disappear, and his position was taken over by Nitan Ichimi. This new captain was not very competent at first and barely passed the relevant ability test. Moreover, the Taero series pioneered the differentiation of female member uniforms from male members. Sometimes, Moriyama member even drives the Sky Whale to fire missiles at the monsters, and one episode ends with her buying ice cream for the male members.

In the series, there are indeed some monsters that leave a deep impression, such as King Rebbu, which gives a sense of doing whatever it wants. Of course, its huge belly and almost ceaseless monstrous laughter also leave a deep impression. Batton once successively killed Taero and Zoffy, so he is also a formidable character. The Empire Alien required the combined efforts of the six Ultra brothers to defeat it. Mogurin is a giant wooden barrel shape, which is quite interesting. The characteristic appearance of the Balki Alien reminds people of the hero Leo Ultraman who appeared after Taero. Some monsters from earlier series reappeared in Taero, such as Eleking, Seven Beastmon, Jack Belok, Yapool, Ice Meffilas, First Generation, and Taranet, a chimera monster composed of various parts of bodies of some monsters that had previously appeared. To get rid of the concept of super beasts formed in E.S., they were set as creatures much more terrifying than ordinary monsters. In Taero, the enemies were again called monsters, but their power was no less than those super beasts, and they were strong enough. This view was quickly accepted by people after the new monster Aesthmon appeared and swallowed the last super beast, Oodlunger.

The Taero series broke the tradition of using light effects accompanied by theme songs to create opening sequences, replacing them with real images of the cool S.H.I.N.E team equipment. In the last episode, Guangtao returned the Ultra Badge to Mother Ultra and then relied on his own strength to defeat the Balki Alien, bidding farewell to the S.H.I.N.E team members and traveling alone.
