The "Rich and Noble Door" tells a story about a big family who run a bank. Everything begins with an old swindler infiltrating the family and becoming the second son. The second son and the eldest son struggle with each other in the business field, while both of them face love predicaments outside the business. The eldest son marries a noblewoman but has an extramarital affair with a female lawyer he truly loves. The second son deeply loves the third daughter who has no blood relationship with him, but they can't be together due to ethical limits. Are the eldest son and his ostensibly half-blood brother destined to confront each other? In this family, the second son feels the preciousness of kinship. But as a swindler, he can only choose one between interests and family affection. Will he be moved by family affection or ultimately embark on a path of no return for the sake of benefits?
Family affection is innocent, but money tempts sin. Banker Zhuo Yiyuan (played by Lui Loong-wai) mistakenly recognizes Sha Fuli (played by Luo Jialiang) as his half-blood younger brother Zhuo Erming and cultivates him into a significant member in the banking circle. Under the deception of family affection, Yiyuan fails to recognize Fuli's hidden ill intentions, which results in nurturing a tiger that eventually causes trouble. Yiyuan encounters a riot abroad and gets kidnapped. This embarrassing experience drastically changes his personality. Despite repeated guidance and persuasion from his loving wife He Juenian (played by Cheung Mei-chun), she cannot help him get rid of the shadow of shame, pushing him to seek comfort from his old lover Dong Lingzi (played by Kwok Ho-wing). Years of marital affection are broken in an instant.
After Fuli enters the Zhuo family, he initially tastes the warmth of family affection and discovers that his beloved is actually his nominally half-blood sister Zhuo Yixin (played by Yeun Wing). However, Yixin, restrained by morality, suppresses her true feelings for Fuli and instead turns to Gao Tuomin (played by Ma Dek-chung), who is infatuated with her. Unwilling to lose his love or abandon wealth, Fuli ultimately chooses the path of wealth between emotion and money, stepping into the decadent door of riches. This heralds a series of intense monetary competitions among passionate men, beautiful entanglements filled with love and hate, and severe tests challenging ethics, all set like arrows on the string.
