The story told in the film still begins with that popular black female head of a large family in the US, Marti (Taylor Perry). This grandmother-level elderly woman, who likes to carry a pistol in her handbag, happened to catch Jennifer Hope (Oleda Wilson) and her two younger brothers red-handed while they were looting her house. Marti is Marti; she didn't send the three siblings to a correctional facility but chose to deal with the trouble in her own way. Without hesitation, she threw the three young criminals to their only relative, their aunt April (Tara Jihansen), for supervision. April is a nightclub singer who likes to drink heavily, and her life isn't going well. Her emotional world is even more chaotic as she currently lives with a married man, Randy (Bryan White). Clearly, she can't take good care of three teenagers. Soon, the situation takes a turn for the worse and has gone out of April's control. In the basement of her residence, a handsome Mexican immigrant, Sandy (Noah Adam Rodriguez), moves in. For some reason, Sandy constantly supervises April's discipline of the children. In fact, he is just trying to atone for his troublesome past. Sandy keeps trying to make April open up completely, which gradually changes her attitude towards life. April realizes that she must make the most important decision of her life: continue to mess around with Randy like before or seek a new beginning related to family and loyalty, reorganize her feelings, and embrace the challenge of true love. I can go crazy on my own. I can go crazy on my own. I can go crazy on my own.
