A Summer Interlude Mary is a young and talented ballet dancer. One summer day at her uncle's house, she meets Henrik, and they fall in love at first sight. Henrik is a generous university student. Soon, they start dating every day and spend a very happy time together. However, good times don't last long as Mary starts to feel increasingly confused and uneasy.
One unfortunate morning during their last days together, Henrik suffers severe head and back injuries while diving. Years later, Mary becomes the principal dancer of the ballet company, but she still misses her lost first love and is tormented by pain, which gradually diminishes her achievements. Later, she accidentally discovers an old diary that awakens Mary's memories of the past. The power of love leads her to return to Romania to search for those beautiful memories.
