eBay launches the Vietnamese version eBay.vn

The online auction giant eBay recently launched its Vietnamese version website, eBay.vn, in the hope of tapping into Vietnam's enormous economic and trade potential to help the company find new profit lines.

According to eBay, as early as 1998, the first Vietnamese national registered on the site, and today there are already a large number of online traders from Vietnam active on eBay. Their main products include cameras, peripheral devices, and handicrafts, among others. Statistics show that Vietnam's total population currently stands at 84 million, with 17% already online. Meanwhile, Vietnam's economic growth has been remarkable; in 2006 alone, Vietnam's GDP grew by an impressive 8.2%.
