According to media reports, the grey market 3G iPhone is now widely available in Chongqing city, with prices ranging from 5000 to 7000 yuan. However, one of the selling points touted by dealers - the 3G functionality - has turned out to be more of a decorative feature that looks good but isn't very useful.

According to other sources, there are two versions of the "sky-high priced" iPhones in the grey market: the US version generally sells for about 5500 yuan, while the Hong Kong version is closer to 7000 yuan. As for the 3G functionality that dealers are heavily promoting, it is indeed a rather useless feature in Chongqing where the 3G network has not been launched.
