Following the storyline from the previous series, DIE (Detection Intelligence Enforcement) under Lang's leadership solves many strange cases, eventually achieving "honorable dissolution." Everyone returns to their previous posts except for Jingjing who is on maternity leave and Fee Sir who has retired back to Scotland. However, everyone's quirky personalities and styles remain unchanged, continuing to cause headaches for their superiors and facing exclusion at work.

During a large official event, former DIE members gather for various reasons to perform tasks. Jing, passing by with her baby, accidentally stumbles into a restricted area while apprehending her old enemy Daoying, causing a chain reaction that embarrasses the top police officer... As a result, the police high command holds an emergency meeting. Lang's direct superior Luo Youheng, in order to get rid of these troublesome subordinates again, proposes to reorganize DIE, gathering this group of troublemakers who can't be fired together, leaving them to fend for themselves. Since the original DIE supervisor Fee Sir has retired, Heng is forced to take on the responsibility of leading DIE.

Upon learning about the reformation of DIE, Jing becomes very eager to return to work after her maternity leave. However, Lang, being overly patriarchal, tricks Jing into agreeing to take a year off to focus on being a full-time mother and taking care of the baby. Later, when Lang's tricks are discovered by Jing, she refuses to be manipulated by Lang and decides to apply for reinstatement independently. Returning to the Major Crime Unit, Jing works alongside newly arrived high-flyers whose personalities and styles clash like Mars colliding with Earth. Moreover, due to Jing having previously offended the top officer, her superior fears she will drag down the Major Crime Unit, so he finds an excuse to transfer Jing back to DIE. Back at DIE, Jing entrusts her baby to others for temporary care, but this causes disagreements between Jing's mother and grandmother over how to care for the baby, resulting in constant arguments. To avoid family disputes, Jing's father orders her to personally take care of the baby, forcing Jing to bring her baby to work where the DIE team takes turns looking after it, creating a series of comedic situations...

Heng, in an attempt to quickly get rid of difficulties, constantly overworks everyone and deliberately splits up DIE, forcing Lang and Jing to lead separate teams to compete in solving cases. Initially, both Lang and Jing simply do their best, but Lang, with his psychic intuition, consistently solves cases, putting his team far ahead in performance... Meanwhile, Jing accidentally discovers that her baby seems to have inherited some of Lang's incredible abilities, often able to predict answers to certain questions, helping Jing make correct decisions and repeatedly turning danger into safety. Doubtful yet hesitant to tell Lang, Jing secretly uses her baby's abilities to assist in investigations, impressing others. However, Lang eventually learns about this and strongly opposes Jing's abuse of her baby's abilities, fearing it might negatively affect the baby's growth. This adds fuel to the fire in their relationship. At this time, Lang encounters his first love, Wen Chuchu, and makes great efforts to help clear her of murder charges, which infuriates Jing and leads to a cold war between the couple... Unexpectedly, Xiao Yi reappears, but it turns out this Xiao Yi isn't the real one... In a dream, Lang meets Xiao Yi, who issues a shocking warning, pointing out that the life-and-death fate between Lang and Jing remains unresolved. Although Jing's giving birth temporarily avoided disaster, as the baby grows older, misfortune will return, and Jing will face mortal peril. Just as Lang is half-believing this, the major villain from the previous season, Zhen Xiangrong, reappears before Lang and Jing... It turns out that this person is actually Zhen Xiangrong's twin brother, Zhen Xianghua, who had been secretly hospitalized in a foreign psychiatric hospital due to mental issues. He has now returned to carry out his revenge plan...

As for Qing, seeing Lang and Jing marry and continue the family line, she feels it's time to pursue her own dreams and studies abroad alone. Yi doesn't take it seriously at first, waiting patiently for Qing to return after finishing her studies and then getting married. However, the feelings between the two have begun to show signs of crisis... Ever since Qing left Hong Kong, the business of Yi Xianqian has relied solely on Mei and Pei to support it. When Pei encounters difficulties at work, she seeks help from Yi, who, considering himself half-owner of Yi Xianqian, repeatedly helps despite personal sacrifices. Through this, Pei gets to know Yi's kind, positive, and optimistic side, greatly admiring him and becoming good friends. Over time, Qing living abroad realizes a change in her life goals and secretly conveys her thoughts to Lang and Jing, hoping they will persuade Yi not to wait for her any longer... This matter is accidentally learned by Pei, who feels it's unfair for Yi and can't bear to see him continue preparing for an impossible wedding. Therefore, she teaches Yi various romantic methods to express his feelings to Qing far away in hopes of salvaging this wonderful relationship...
