Introduction to Queen Seondeok:

"Queen Seondeok" tells the story of Princess Doman (played by Lee Yo Won), who was abandoned as a child due to an ominous prophecy. Through relentless effort and navigating power struggles within the palace, she grows up to become the first queen of Silla - Queen Seondeok.

Under the control of the beautiful Mi-seok (played by Go Hyun Jung) in the harem, King Jinpung and Lady Maya give birth to twin daughters. However, for the king, the birth of twins is considered extremely unlucky, signifying the "end of the sacred male lineage." Helplessly, King Jinpung orders someone to send away the younger daughter Doman, but Mi-seok secretly sends people to assassinate her. At a critical moment, Doman is saved by the legendary Hwarang leader Moon-u, who entrusts her to King Jinpung's maid Chohwa to raise. Chohwa takes Doman to the desert regions of China and raises her in a small inn. Doman's greatest enemy, Mi-seok, uses her extraordinary beauty to win the favor of King Jinheung and seize power in the palace. After King Jinheung's death, the ambitious Mi-seok installs the young King Jinpung on the throne. When King Jinpung's wife gives birth to twin daughters, Mi-seok plans to use their lives to threaten him and directly seize royal power. Unexpectedly, Moon-u and Chohwa save Doman, thwarting her plan. Despite holding significant power, Mi-seok does not abandon her ambition to seize the throne, plotting to install her husband as king. Thus, she views Doman's twin sister Princess Tae-Mi (played by Park Yi Jin) as a thorn in her side. Under Mi-seok's rule, Princess Tae-Mi, with her extraordinary wisdom and quick judgment, doesn't easily reveal her true nature but always displays her leadership abilities at crucial moments. Although Princess Tae-Mi marries Gim Yon-choon (played by Park Jung Cheol) and has a son named Gim Chun-chu (played by Yoo Seung-ho), she develops feelings for Gim Yu-sin (played by Um Tae-woong), who once saved her life. The renowned Silla general Gim Yu-sin, after accidentally rescuing Princess Tae-Mi from an assassination attempt orchestrated by Mi-seok's confidants, meets Doman under Tae-Mi's arrangements. While helping Princess Doman realize her grand dream of unifying the three kingdoms, he develops feelings for Doman and becomes her loyal supporter. With the help of Gim Yu-sin, Princess Doman gradually dismantles Mi-seok's influence and ascends to the throne as the first queen of Silla.
