Plot Summary: This is a story set in the Warring States period that takes place over five days and four nights.
Luyi, a small city in the state of Zhao. Three years ago, just after Lord Jucong (played by Wang Xueqi) married the young and beautiful Li (played by Fan Bingbing), he led all the adult men of his clan to fight in the Changping battle between Qin and Zhao. Every day, Li and the women, children, and elderly hoped that the state of Zhao would repel the Qin forces so that the men could return home sooner...
Changping, where the Zhao army was heavily defeated, the Qin army slaughtered the captured Zhao soldiers overnight, creating a cruel and tragic scene. Qin soldier Xia (played by Huang Jue), driven by the desire to return home for the harvest, quietly left the battlefield. On his escape route, Xia met a young Qin soldier Ze (played by Du Jiayi). The two had vastly different personalities and went from mutual suspicion to embarking on their journey home together.
