This Sino-Canadian co-production tells the story of the early 20th century, when Canada recruited Chinese laborers to build a railway spanning from north to south in Canada. In the film, Sun Li plays the role of the heroine Xiaohu, who travels across the sea from China to Canada during turbulent times to embark on a perilous and arduous journey to find her father.

In the movie, Sun Li's character Xiaohu has always longed to take a chance in the "Gold Mountain" across the ocean. "She" knows the risks involved because her father went there several years ago, but the result was his ashes being sent back in a box. Sun Li conceals her beauty in the harsh world of Chinese workers but falls in love with the son of a railroad tycoon...

Invested by both Chinese and Canadian parties with tens of millions of dollars, made with a strong Hollywood production team, filmed in both China and Canada, this epic masterpiece comparable to "Titanic" features famous Hollywood actors Peter O'Toole and Sam Neill, mainland TV queen Sun Li, and Hong Kong film emperor Tony Leung Ka Fai.

"Iron Road" is produced by renowned Hollywood producer Remen Mace and directed by Chinese director David Hu, who has been active in Hollywood for many years. It stars famous Hollywood actors Peter O'Toole (starred in "The Last Emperor", "Troy", "Love and Death") and Sam Neill (starred in "Jurassic Park", "The Piano"), and due to the story taking place in China and Canada, the movie will be filmed in both locations. The Chinese cast includes Tony Leung Ka Fai, Sun Li, Gao Yunxiang, and others.

Sun Li has already become a household name in television throughout China, becoming an undisputed TV queen. Her debut in cinema in "Hu Yuanjia" achieved excellent results. This participation in a big Hollywood production is a new attempt and opportunity for her. The movie not only has the grand background of a Hollywood blockbuster but also incorporates the unique characteristics of Chinese kung fu films. To adapt to the English language setting and action scenes of the movie, Sun Li has been studying English and martial arts. Relevant analysts believe that after achieving a breakthrough in cinema with "Hu Yuanjia," Sun Li's Hollywood blockbuster "Iron Road" will enable her to successfully transition from television to movies.
