1724 Brothel Riot / 1724 Siege of Myeongwol Hyang [D] - Comedy - Hollywood Cinema [www.hlwyy.com]

During the late reign of King Yeongjo, the political rivalry between the Noron and Soron factions had reached an irreparable state, with dark clouds looming over the palace. Joseon was plunged into a highly tense period.

At the heart of Hanyang stood the brothel "Myeongwol Hyang," which welcomed its newest star, Seol Ji (played by Kim Ok-bin), a top graduate from the Pyongyang courtesan school. Tae-rae (played by Lee Jung-jae), a notorious troublemaker from Mapo known for his idleness and frequent brawls, immediately took a liking to Seol Ji. Meanwhile, Seol Ji, who navigated through the lives of various men, found herself intrigued by Tae-rae's carefree and unrestrained nature.

However, standing between them was a formidable and dangerous figure – Wan-deok (played by Kim Seok-hoon), the owner of Myeongwol Hyang and a legendary martial artist capable of fighting 186 men at once. The intertwined fates of these three were bound to collide explosively.

Every time he thought of Seol Ji, Tae-rae felt an immense sense of happiness. One day, in a fit of rage, he accidentally killed an iconic figure in Joseon’s boxing world, the one-eared leader of the Yangzhou faction, and became their temporary boss. Though it seemed like a position of power, danger lurked beneath the surface as Wan-deok, ambitious and cunning, kept a close eye on Tae-rae. Caught between the two, Seol Ji found herself increasingly confused and conflicted.

The inevitable showdown between Tae-rae and Wan-deok was drawing near, capturing the attention of the entire nation. A massive event that could not be avoided was about to unfold. What exactly happened in Joseon in 1724? The answer will be revealed in December 2008.
