Berlin Women - Drama - Hollywood Cinema [www.hlwyy.com] In 1945, World War II was drawing to a close. Berlin, the heart of the Third Reich, had been reduced to rubble under the fierce attacks of the Allied forces. After a brief skirmish, tens of thousands of Soviet soldiers surged into this decaying city. German civilians hiding in shelters were forced out at gunpoint. The sins of the men were transferred onto the women. Countless women were raped, yet not a single Soviet officer stepped forward to stop it.

She (played by Nina Hoss), is one of these humiliated German women. Her husband is far away at the front, his fate uncertain. Terrified and helpless, she could only endure the humiliation time and again. She offered herself to a Soviet officer, just to survive in this harsh environment...

This film is adapted from the diary-style work of the same name by a German female journalist.
