Plot Summary:

The Jade Emperor's younger sister, Yao Ji, secretly marries a mortal scholar named Yang Tianyou. They have three children: Yang Jiao, Yang Jian (ErLang Shen), and Yang Chan (Bodhisattva Erlang’s sister). When the Jade Emperor learns of this forbidden marriage, he sends celestial soldiers and generals to the mortal realm. They kill Yang Tianyou and Yang Jiao and imprison Yao Ji under Mount Peach. Only Yang Jian and Yang Chan manage to escape with the help of Nezha (Third Lotus Prince).

As a result, Nezha and Yang Jian become wanted fugitives across the three realms. The celestial army besieges Chen Tang Pass, where Nezha falls into a trap and commits suicide. Grandmaster Taiyi uses a lotus petal from the Sacred Lotus Lantern to recreate Nezha's body. To keep Nezha under control, Taiyi entrusts the Sacred Lotus Lantern to Yang Chan for safekeeping.

Yang Jian studies under Master Yuding and masters incredible powers, even transforming his faithful companion, the Heavenly Hound (Xiaotianquan), into human form. Yang Jian splits Mount Peach to rescue his mother but discovers that the Jade Emperor sent ten of his sons—ten suns—to scorch Yao Ji to death. Filled with rage, Yang Jian kills nine of the suns, sparing only one due to the intervention of the Third Princess of the West Sea. Yang Jian ascends to heaven to seek revenge, destroying the Southern Heaven Gate. In retaliation, the Jade Emperor orders the天河 (Celestial River) to flood Yang Jian, which not only fails to stop him but also causes the river water to flow down to the mortal realm, resulting in devastating floods.

Yang Jian is captured by the Queen Mother of the West and imprisoned in the Fourth Heaven. He begins to question whether his mother made the right choice in marrying a mortal. This doubt weakens him until Yang Chan and Nezha arrive and rescue him. Persuaded by Chang'e, Yang Jian decides to abandon his vendetta against the Celestial Court and instead works with Yang Chan to descend to the mortal realm to address the flooding disaster.
