I. What is Blogger Network?
The term "Blogger Network" refers to a team of bloggers, where "Blogger" means someone who writes blog posts or simply a blogger; "Network" means computer network or a web-like structure, implying a team. Sysku's first exposure to Blogger Network was through China Blogger Network (CBN). After recent research online, it was discovered that there are many similar teams, and this article attempts to summarize them. It is difficult for one person to cover all possibilities, so readers are encouraged to provide additional information. (The term "Blogger Network" has been included in Baidu Encyclopedia based on the content of this article.)
II. Basic Characteristics of Blogger Network
1. Size: A relatively small number of members;
2. Content: Similar blog themes, more professional content, mostly original, good adherence to the Creative Commons license, and high quality;
3. Influence: Blogs generally have a certain level of influence, often aggregating among members such as reciprocal linking, and using social networking applications like RSS subscriptions;
4. Members: Members usually have specialized skills, love blogging, update their blogs frequently, maintain consistent contact with each other, and enjoy trying out the latest internet applications;
5. Platform: Generally, each member owns their own independent blog, using blog programs like WordPress (WP), Z-Blog, etc., purchasing their own space to independently set up their blogs without relying on Blog Service Providers (BSP);
6. Identity: Usually have a unified identity such as logos, forming a consistent external image;
7. Aggregation: There is a separate website as the official site of the alliance, introducing its mission, showcasing members, and handling some alliance affairs.
III. How Many Blogger Networks Are There Currently?
The author currently knows of approximately five Blogger Networks. They are China Blogger Network (CBN), oblogger (Original Bloggers Alliance), choudou (Odor Beans), netbusy (Mud), and ucdchina (UCD Community).
Some websites with alliance characteristics, such as Yi Wu Yi Shi Tribe, Jian Dan, and Ai Zao Bao, are hard to classify as Blogger Networks. Some have developed into larger comprehensive blog sites and opened registration, while others are blog sites with multiple contributors. Sysku's understanding of Blogger Networks does not include various circles on BSPs (such as the education blog circle on Sina Blog), does not include numerous single blogs with multiple writers (such as Blog Chinese Translation, Alibaba UED Team, Fun of Thinking), does not include comprehensive or quasi-comprehensive websites based on RSS aggregation (such as Yi Wu Yi Shi Tribe, Blog Alliance, Catch Shrimp), nor does it include blogs without independent domains. Sysku's organization of Blogger Networks mainly relies on the characteristics of Blogger Networks mentioned in Section II. Of course, this itself is an almost entirely new attempt, and even the concept is continuously being revised.
