You may have noticed that recently Google AdSense has increased the font size of text ads. The system determines the size of the ad font based on the format of the ad unit and the number of ads returned.
However, I believe that this move by Google AdSense is completely unnecessary. First, from the perspective of user experience, users do not want to see obtrusive ads. Enlarging the font size of ads will inevitably make them more prominent, which undoubtedly increases the psychological burden on users, making them feel like ads are everywhere. Second, the highest level of ad placement is when the ads blend seamlessly with the content. Based on my observations, after Google AdSense increased the font size of text ads, the ad fonts are almost always larger than the website's own fonts, so users can immediately tell that they are ads.
