I just saw Hu Ge expressing his disappointment on Fanfou, saying he was quite disappointed because Tencent QQ had blocked the addresses of Baidu Space. I did some tests and it was indeed the case. Whether I entered the full http://hi.baidu.com or just hi.baidu.com, neither could be sent. After multiple tests, I found something even more amusing: even httphi.baidu.com or hi.baidu.comsdfffdfg couldn't be sent. In other words, any information containing the Baidu Space address (hi.baidu.com) was blocked. However, other related URLs like baidu.com can still be sent normally.
In theory, the user overlap between QQ Space and Baidu Space isn't very high, so Tencent's reason for blocking Baidu Space isn't very convincing. After all, the most direct competitive products currently in existence should be QQ Wenwen and Baidu Zhidao —— Baidu Zhidao hasn't been blocked.
My personal speculation:
1. Baidu may be launching a new product that ties into Baidu Space, and Tencent has acted preemptively;
2. There are too many Baidu Space web pages with malware, and Tencent has filtered them out of safety considerations.
Friends who are interested can analyze what Tencent's purpose is in blocking Baidu Space URLs.
