Gentleman on the beam

The梁 Shang Gentleman was originally a comedy directed by Xu Xia, starring Dong Biao, Qian Xiaohao, and Jiang Jin. In the film, they play three professional pickpockets who have always cooperated seamlessly. However, after an accidental mishap where Dong gets caught and sent to jail, Qian and Jiang struggle with their endeavors outside. Upon Dong's release from prison, they eagerly welcome him back, ready to make a big comeback. Dong had once falsely claimed to his daughter that he was going into business in Nanyang, so he disguises himself as a wealthy Nanyang businessman upon returning home. His strange appearance draws onlookers. The trio can't resist showing off their thievery skills and begin stealing left and right. Luo Mang plays a security captain who, noticing their peculiar attire attracting crowds, sternly questions them. With his rich experience, Dong skillfully deflects the accusations, boasting of his special status, which forces Luo to apologize humbly.
