A woman should not be made to cry.

The talented young businessman Su Jiankang (played by Simon Su) deeply loves his wife Xin Yi (played by Liu Zi). Five years ago, his father-in-law Yang Chengbang suddenly passed away. Since then, he has cherished Xin Yi like a precious gem. Although he is domineering and successful in the business world, when it comes to Xin Yi, he always feels insecure. Under the care of her husband Su Jiankang, Xin Yi leads a happy life. However, her former lover from university days, lawyer Gu Junyong (played by Aaron Kwok), re-enters her life after an unexpected reunion. Gu Junyong struggles to come to terms with the fact that his former lover is now married. Meanwhile, he finds himself at a low point in his career. His good friend Ah Chun (played by Candy Lo), who has always harbored unspoken feelings for him, remains by his side. Despite knowing about Gu Junyong's girlfriend abroad, Ah Chun suppresses her emotions and continues to care for him selflessly.

Su Jiankang learns about Xin Yi's past relationship with Gu Junyong and believes his marriage is under threat, fearing that they might reignite their old romance. These baseless suspicions lead to numerous misunderstandings and tensions between Su Jiankang and Xin Yi. Xin Yi's freedom is repeatedly restricted by Su Jiankang. Full of ideals and ambitions, Gu Junyong is unaware of Xin Yi's suffering. He gains the appreciation of Su Jiankang's long-time rival Zheng Yuanqiu and joins his team, putting immense pressure on Su Jiankang. When Ah Chun's hard-worked noodle shop faces forced demolition by Su Jiankang's company, Gu Junyong confronts Su Jiankang. Su Jiankang believes Gu Junyong is opposing him and inciting unrest among the public, leading to a fierce argument with Xin Yi. Faced with Su Jiankang's increasingly intense misunderstandings and suspicions, Xin Yi is tormented and decides to take a temporary break to allow Su Jiankang to calm down. Unable to accept this reality, Su Jiankang becomes even more疯狂.

A beautiful woman, a loving husband, a sweet relationship, and a promising career ultimately result in a horrifying tragedy. Love, affection, possession, suspicion, jealousy, conspiracy, and an unexpected murder case leave everyone questioning: Who destroyed their own happy marriage? Who altered others' destinies? Only when it's too late do they realize that happiness had slipped through their fingers, beyond redemption.
