"Wrong Love: Major Life Events" is a large-scale urban-themed emotional TV series adapted from the eponymous novel by Liu Liu, a sister piece to "Snail House," which interprets the living conditions of China's white-collar class.

Plot Introduction: Liao Yang, the director of the small appliances department at Huatian Electrical Mall, has always dreamed of owning a car. He finally convinces Yuan Yuan to buy a car before buying a house, and they agree to rent an apartment for their marriage. For young people, this arrangement may seem trivial, but it causes an uproar among the elders of both families. Liao Yang's parents insist not only on buying a house but also on having a grand wedding. At this time, Yuan Yuan's mother arrives from out of town and begins to doubt her future son-in-law who claims to be the sales supervisor at the electrical mall. In fact, Liao Yang is the pride of the Liao family, and to make his parents feel comforted and proud, he has been lying about being promoted to the position of sales supervisor.

When their child is born, the young couple finds themselves completely unprepared for parenthood, turning their home into chaos. What makes Yuan Yuan even more intolerable is that Liao Yang, who loves sleeping, is unable to rest due to the baby’s nighttime cries. Rather than dealing with it, he chooses to stay out all night drinking with friends. Left with no choice, Yuan Yuan hands over the baby to her parents. However, tensions arise between her mother and Liao Yang's mother over how to raise the child, almost leading to a physical altercation. Ultimately, Liao Yang's mother secures custody but ends up spoiling the child excessively.

Finally, Yuan Yuan takes responsibility for educating the child and starts learning how to take care of him. She buys parenting books, follows parenting channels online, and exchanges experiences with new mothers on forums, even inviting fellow netizens home. All these actions make Liao Yang extremely dissatisfied as he feels that his wife has been taken away by their son. In retaliation, he tries every means to mistreat the child, but this only leads to Yuan Yuan giving him even colder treatment.

Having finally married and had a child, Liao Yang doesn’t understand what a happy married life should look like.
