Two lovers

In "Two Lovers", Leonard, played by Joaquin Phoenix, is abandoned by his fiancée due to pathological reasons and subsequently becomes unable to move on for a long time. Living in his parents' apartment in New York, Leonard has attempted suicide multiple times. Leonard's parents are considering a partnership with their friends, the Cohen family, to run a dry cleaning business. Sandra, played by Vanessa Shaw and the eldest daughter of the Cohen family, falls in love with Leonard. However, Leonard finds himself attracted to his blonde neighbor Michelle, played by Gwyneth Paltrow. Unfortunately, Michelle is embroiled in an extramarital affair with a married lawyer named Ronald, played by Elias Koteas. Torn between these loves, Leonard suffers greatly, feeling lost and conflicted as light and darkness alternate in his life.
