Wine v1.0 RC4 - Platform for running Windows programs on Linux

Having just entered the world of Linux, it's inevitable that you might want to take advantage of Windows program resources from time to time. Wine provides a platform for running Windows programs. Wine (which stands for "Wine Is Not an Emulator," meaning it is more than just an emulator) is a set of Windows APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that run on X Window System and Unix. You can also think of Wine as a Windows compatibility layer.
