The email delivery feature of Opera Blog cannot deliver Chinese articles. It's really troublesome to publish articles each time, and several times I've thought about giving up Opera. But there are a lot of readers on Opera Blog who read my articles, which makes me reluctant to leave. So, I decided to research other convenient methods.

Using Windows Live Writer was my first thought.

Windows Live Writer supports many Blog APIs, so I wanted to try setting it up to see if I could post articles on Opera.

After searching, I actually found a solution.

The setup method is as follows:

1.Choose Blog Type

Open Windows Live Writer, click "Weblog", select "Add Weblog Account...", choose "Another weblog service", and click "Next";

2.Weblog Homepage and Login

In the "Weblog Homepage URL:" field, enter your Opera Blog address;

My address: http://my.opera.com/cherio2002/blog/

Enter the username and password you use for Opera Blog, then click "Next";

Then Windows Live Writer will start analyzing the homepage you entered;

3.Select Provider

This step is crucial. If the provider is selected incorrectly, you still won't be able to successfully post articles. This is where I got stuck.

However, I eventually found the answer in the "official My Opera developer blog".

In the "Type of weblog that you are using:" field, select "Custom Moveable Type API"

In the "Remote posting URL for your weblog:" field, enter "http://my.opera.com//blog/api/"

Then click "Next", at this point Windows Live Writer will start analyzing this API, and subsequently your templates and TAG information will be captured by Windows Live Writer;

4.Weblog Configuration Complete

This is the last step. In the "Weblog Name:" field, give it a name, and click "Finish" to complete all settings.

Alright, quickly use Windows Live Writer to publish your first article on Opera Blog!
