According to foreign media reports, the other day, Microsoft of US released a notice on its website that in the enterprise server upgrade service on February 12 next month, it will uniformly upgrade the browser for enterprise users to IE7. Users who don't want to upgrade need to get prepared in advance.
On February 12, Microsoft will automatically upgrade some user browsers to IE7.
Microsoft said that on February 12, they would include an automatic update for IE6 and lower versions in the "Windows Server Update Service", and all enterprise user browsers would be automatically upgraded to the latest IE7 version.
If the current update service has been set to automatic installation, IE7 will be automatically upgraded. Microsoft reminded enterprise network administrators that if they do not want to upgrade their browser, they need to cancel the automatic upgrade in the update settings before the 12th.
Microsoft said that a series of security threats targeting old browser versions were the reasons prompting Microsoft to automatically upgrade the enterprise user's browser.
Microsoft introduced new functions such as multi-tab browsing in IE7. Due to habit reasons, many enterprise users are still using the IE6 browser.
This automatic update by Microsoft only involves updates for enterprises. It is still unclear whether Microsoft will automatically update in the upgrade services for personal Windows users.
In the personal home market, Microsoft previously required users downloading and upgrading IE7 to be genuine Windows users. As the popularization speed of IE7 was lower than Microsoft expected, they later announced that upgrading from IE6 to IE7 would no longer verify whether the operating system was genuine.
