Addressing the Confusion about Ubuntu's gvfs-fuse-daemon

In the past couple of days, many friends who have just installed Ubuntu 8.04 have reported to me that after opening the system monitor, they see a "strange" device called **gvfs-fuse-daemon** in the file system. Its mount point is `"~/.gvfs"`, and its type is `"fuse.gvfs-fuse-daemon"`. The **gvfs-fuse-daemon** appears to be "using" a large amount of disk space, and even more strangely, the disk space usage of this **gvfs-fuse-daemon** device is identical to that of the `"/"` directory. When they go into the mount point of this "strange" disk to check, there are no files inside. I will address all these doubts in the following sections!
