The much-publicized Baidu MP3 copyright infringement case that has been going on for over a year was ruled on yesterday. The litigation requests of the seven major global record companies, including Universal, EMI, Warner, and Sony were rejected.

However, as the plaintiff's proxy lawyer, lawyer Guo Chunfei, legal advisor at the Beijing Representative Office of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry stated to this reporter that they were "very surprised" by the ruling.
