On the afternoon of August 22, we noticed that Baidu's e-commerce platform (zhaoshang.baidu.com) was launched and opened for the first time to accept beta testing applications, offering no more than 10,000 beta test slots for merchants to join in advance. The slogan "For shopping, start with Baidu" was also proposed.

According to the introduction, for those lucky ones who submit applications and pass the review, Baidu's e-commerce platform will also present them with an independent .cn domain name, provide free platform promotion, and offer customized marketing activity support.

In addition, these merchants can obtain permissions such as uploading products, decorating stores, and merchant certification before the platform goes online, making careful preparations for the official opening of their shops.

Baidu officially announced its entry into the e-commerce field in October 2007. During the earnings call for the second quarter this year, Baidu's CEO Robin Li revealed that it would "be released before the end of the year."

Subsequently, Baidu initiated a recruitment campaign nationwide, entering cities where e-commerce is relatively more developed, such as Beijing, Ningbo, Guangzhou, Nanjing, and Wuhan, with thousands of experienced merchants invited to participate.

However, as of now, details about Baidu's e-commerce platform have not yet been disclosed.
