On the afternoon of August 22, we noticed that Baidu's e-commerce platform (zhaoshang.baidu.com) was open and the internal testing registration was opened for the first time, providing no more than 10,000 internal testing spots for merchants to move in advance.

For this batch of merchants who submit applications and are approved, Baidu's e-commerce platform will give away independent .cn domains, provide free platform promotion and tailor-made marketing activity support. In addition, these merchants can also obtain permissions such as uploading products, decorating stores, and merchant certification before the platform goes online, preparing for the official opening of the shop.

Baidu officially announced its entry into the e-commerce field in October 2007. During the analyst call meeting of Baidu's second-quarter financial report this year, Baidu CEO Robin Li revealed that it "will be launched before the end of the year." Subsequently, Baidu launched a large-scale recruitment campaign nationwide, entering cities where e-commerce is relatively mature, such as Beijing, Ningbo, Guangzhou, Nanjing, and Wuhan.

"This opening of internal testing applications is a continuation of Baidu's e-commerce platform recruitment activities. We will continue to firmly follow the planned deployment and solidly carry out all work, striving to maintain Baidu's consistent excellent performance in products," said Mingyuan Li, General Manager of Baidu's E-commerce Division. For the first batch of merchants moving in, Baidu's e-commerce platform will offer many preferential conditions and resource injections.

To date, details about Baidu's e-commerce platform have not been announced. However, Baidu has previously revealed that its e-commerce platform will integrate resources from Baidu's web search, community, and Baidu Hi, creating an efficient one-stop shopping platform for sellers and buyers. Baidu CFO Jennifer Li expressed in Beijing in May that C2C, online games, and IM are fields with little investment but can achieve the dual goals of meeting user needs and increasing Baidu's revenue.
