"Human flesh" first case

The first "human flesh search" case is proceeding with difficulty. There is new progress in the sensational case of a Beijing female white-collar worker who committed suicide by jumping from a building due to her husband's infidelity that took place earlier this year. Her husband, Wang Fei, became a target of netizens' "human flesh search", with his personal information being disclosed on the Internet and his life being disturbed, leading him to sue the website. This is the first time that a Chinese court has accepted such a case of online infringement. The Chaoyang Court, which accepted the case, found the case complicated after the first hearing, so it upgraded the summary procedure presided over by one judge to the ordinary procedure presided over by a collegiate bench, and even convened a seminar on June 26 involving Internet and legal experts. A meeting of 54 judges was held on July 9.
