Internet Development Report: 85% of Chinese netizens do not trust the Internet

Currently, China's Internet is experiencing an indescribable embarrassment. As the Internet increasingly becomes an inseparable part of netizens' lives, it struggles to fully win their trust.

Yesterday, the China Internet Network Information Center released the "22nd Report on the Development Status of China's Internet," which stated that the number of Chinese Internet users has grown to 253 million, significantly surpassing the number of Internet users in the United States. The number of broadband users also exceeded 200 million for the first time, reaching 214 million. Additionally, the .cn domain surpassed Germany's .de with 12.188 million registrations to become the world's largest country-level top-level domain. However, while the number of Internet users continues to grow rapidly, the report also revealed that China's Internet is facing a significant crisis of trust.
