Fudzilla was recently invited to VIA's headquarters in Taipei, where it got a look at the OpenBook netbook. There were two different sample models on display, one black-and-white and the other black-and-gray. Overall, they looked quite similar to Asus’s 8.9-inch Eee PC. Interestingly, the OpenBook uses SDIO interfaces for all its wireless modules. The two slots can be used as follows: one for Wi-Fi, A-GPS, or Bluetooth, and the other for WiMAX or 3/3.5G data modules. The samples on site were equipped with a WiMAX module and a WiBro module, the latter being the Korean version of WiMAX.
