Editor's note: Baidu launched this application on April Fool's Day. It is unclear whether they intended to fool us or not. After testing it personally, I can confirm that you can indeed input a Weibo post in the Baidu search box and then view this application. I also successfully pushed a Weibo post to Tencent Weibo (see figure). Before sending a Weibo post, you need to authorize the corresponding Weibo account (for example, Tencent Weibo). Reports indicate that Baidu started developing this technology as early as March. However, from my perspective, currently all three supported Weibo platforms require authorization. What's the difference between this and a regular authorized Weibo push program? Is it because of the "box" technology...orz.

April 1st news: Baidu has launched a feature to send Weibos through its search box, which can be synchronized to Tencent Weibo, Sohu Weibo, and NetEase Weibo, with a character limit of 140 characters.

According to the official introduction from Baidu, the Baidu search box Weibo application is an official and convenient tool for mass-sending Weibos. Users can directly use the Baidu search box to post Weibo content. After authorization, users can select the Weibo platform for mass-sending. Currently, only text content and URLs are supported. The login status is automatically saved, and with one click, users can connect multiple Weibo accounts and reach the publishing page directly.

To send a Weibo post via Baidu’s search box, there are just two steps: First, type keywords such as "send Weibo" into the Baidu search box and click "Search"; Second, choose the desired Weibo platform and click "Publish."

In early March, it was reported that Baidu was secretly developing an innovative application: sending Weibos via the search box, allowing netizens to directly post Weibo messages through the Baidu search box. Negotiations were ongoing with Weibo providers.

Data shows that the number of registered Weibo users in China exceeds 100 million. Despite the rapid development of Weibo, the number of active users and usage frequency have always been challenges for Weibo providers. Baidu covers more than 95% of internet users, with daily user searches exceeding 3 billion times, offering enormous cooperation potential. Analysts believe that Weibo providers using the Baidu platform to push Weibo products will lower the usage threshold for users and promote user activity.
