Online Appearance of a Google-Baidu Hybrid
Taking advantage of Baidu's successful debut on the NASDAQ market on August 5th, a search website that resembles both Baidu and Google recently surfaced online. Named "Baigoo" (www.baigoo.com), it combines elements of both tech giants. Additionally, reporters discovered another similar site straightforwardly called "BaiduGoogle" (www.baigoodugle.com). Upon opening the Baigoo website, the central "BaiGoo" logo clearly merges the emblems of Baidu and Google.
The reporter reached out to Hu Teng, the founder of "Baigoo." According to him, the site officially launched on August 4th. Hu Teng explained that "BaiduGoogle" was created by a Canadian Chinese individual. In April this year, he stumbled upon the site and attempted to contact the Canadian creator to learn about the dual-search technology combining Baidu and Google but was unsuccessful in establishing communication. In May, media reports surfaced suggesting that Google might acquire Baidu, followed by news of Google expanding its operations in China and Baidu's upcoming NASDAQ listing. These developments continuously inspired Hu Teng, who firmly believes that collaboration between Google and Baidu is inevitable. He envisions that creating a dual-search platform for both Baidu and Google could potentially fetch a high price in the future.
