Baidu Tieba starts to provide video upload service

Yesterday, Baidu provided video sharing functions for its community product Tieba. The bar owner and "video editor" will have the authority to upload and edit videos. This is another major move by Baidu Tieba after opening picture uploading,名人堂 functions, to create an open, user co-built community platform.

Currently, Baidu has opened video functions for more than ten thousand Tiebas in the Tieba directory. Each Tieba has 20G of video storage space, and the maximum allowable capacity for a single video file is 200M, far exceeding the storage capacity of about 1G offered by other video sharing websites. Tieba also provides a video reposting function. Baidu revealed that in the future this function will be opened to more users.

Data shows that currently, users have created more than 2 million Tiebas on Baidu, with tens of millions of users posting every day, accumulating nearly 3 billion posts in total. And according to Alexa, Tieba's traffic accounts for 10% of Baidu's total traffic.
