Who's copying who - Google or Microsoft?

On the 17th of this month, Google held a serious search technology press conference titled "Searchology" and announced a series of major updates. These included the official launch of universal search mode, as well as new interfaces and navigation menus. The so-called universal search mode refers to displaying various types of search results on one page, including images, videos, blogs, maps, etc.

However, just as Google had released this news and testing had not yet begun, Microsoft quietly took action.

The Live Search with the domain name search.imagine-live.com showed significant differences on its search results page. In addition to normal search results, the page also included:

- "Find information fast": Movie showtimes, weather, sports scores, etc.

- "Image Results": Relevant images for the current search keyword; for example, entering a website domain would display some images from the site.

- "Local Results": Current location, somewhat similar to Google Maps.

This page design could be said to align perfectly with the "universal search mode" that Google had just announced. It remains unknown who copied whom.
