Microsoft announced the alpha version of its new product Popfly, a tool designed to help non-programmers create, share, and embed mashups of memory, feeds, web pages, and gadgets. (A mashup is an exciting interactive web application that uses content retrieved from external data sources to create an entirely new innovative service.) This tool is web-based, allowing users to drag and drop "blocks" onto a workspace and connect multiple data sources. After creating a mashup, users can publish it as a gadget directly to Live Space via the "Add to Windows Live Spaces" link.
