Google has acquired 265 Network through its affiliate company.

May 23rd morning news, according to Google China's confirmation, Google has acquired the 265.COM website under Beijing 265 Network Technology Co., Ltd. through an associated company. Currently, Google search has been embedded into the homepage of 265.COM.

It is learned that Google purchased the 265.COM domain name through its associated company, Google Ireland, and authorized Beijing Gu Xiang Information Technology Co., Ltd. to use it. Compared to before, the bottom of the 265.COM homepage will add "Google大全" (Google Directory), while other aspects of user experience will not change. The current team and organizational structure of 265.COM will also not be affected.

This acquisition is a localized move by Google in China. Acquiring 265.COM will help Google increase traffic, boost online advertising revenue, and better expand its Adsense business. Before the article was finalized, neither party disclosed the acquisition price, but negotiations between them have been ongoing for a long time. Last May, there were even rumors about setbacks in their cooperation.

An insider from 265.COM once said that the reason why the acquisition agreement was not reached at the time was because Google's offer was lower than the psychological bottom line that a key shareholder of 265.COM could accept. Subsequently, Google and 265.COM reached a cooperative model where 265.COM helped Google promote its Adsense business and received profit-sharing. Cai Wensheng, CEO of 265.COM, also publicly stated that 265.COM would seek to go public in the future with the concept of a website alliance.
