Google recently announced a new public welfare program called Google Earth Outreach, which aims to assist non-profit organizations in developing new public welfare applications using Google Earth.

As part of this initiative, Google will help non-profit and public welfare organizations develop functions using the KML language of Google Earth, enabling them to create their own web-based applications based on Google Earth's satellite maps. In addition, Google will provide non-profit organizations with free access to the professional version of Google Earth Pro. By simply filling out an application form, these organizations can obtain this enhanced version of the software, which normally costs $400 per year.
