Microsoft recently announced its plan to launch a GeoSynth mapping service. The new service will use Microsoft's Photosynth technology to merge the high-definition pictures taken and uploaded by the public, associating the picture content with geographical data. Afterwards, it can be connected to Virtual Earth, making it possible for users to browse street-level images of various regions around the world.
