"World of Warcraft" Faces a Leak Scandal, with a Large Amount of Player Information Being Disclosed

Recently, a classified document of "<>" player data has been circulating on the internet. According to Kotaku's report, this 18-page PDF file was released by the well-known hacker group AntiSec, who claimed that the file originated from the cybercrime department of the California Department of Justice. This document contains some detailed files required for law enforcement, including authentication information, court orders, and subpoenas, to ensure Blizzard complies with the requirements for player information. However, given the current situation, players' personal information has already been leaked.

The document lists out the personal data Blizzard holds about players, including IP addresses, login information, payment details, even bank account numbers and social security numbers, as well as personal information and chat records.

It is reported that this PDF had already started being created back in 2009. Since then, Blizzard has held a large amount of personal information, while private messages are only saved for 180 days, but there is no time limit for the retention of chat records.

Currently, Blizzard has not yet responded to the authenticity of this document.
