Snowflake Entertainment plans to release a new game that all StarCraft fans have been looking forward to, in place of Blizzard: "Project: Revolution".

"Project: Revolution" fully transplants Blizzard's classic masterpiece "StarCraft: Brood War" using the "Warcraft III" engine while ensuring that no property rights laws are violated. Snowflake has developed 3D versions of the "StarCraft" units and building models. The attack effects, texture maps, and graphical user interfaces, all enhanced in 3D, are designed to retain the essence of "StarCraft: Brood War" to the maximum extent possible. The AI scripts have been rewritten to ensure smooth operation within the "Warcraft III" engine. None of the developers of "Project: Revolution" are members of Blizzard, but they are all ardent fans of "StarCraft".

In the latest interview, Snowflake Entertainment stated that the development progress of this new game is already halfway done, and they had previously applied to Blizzard for permission (though Blizzard has not yet responded). The developers will continue with the new game development without involving copyright issues and will release it as a free modification of "StarCraft" to all "StarCraft" enthusiasts. The final version will require users to own the original installation CDs of "StarCraft" and "Warcraft III" in order to use it.
