Blizzard played a video of the sequel to "StarCraft" in Seoul, Korea. So far, three races have appeared:
**Terran**
The Terran Reapers are equipped with jetpacks and small pistols, allowing them to cross complex terrains. The video still shows vespene gas and mineral crystals.
Siege Tanks also appear in the video and can still deploy their legs to fire, quickly clearing out Protoss Zealots.
**Protoss**
Zealots still come with blades and armor, featuring a "charge" option that allows them to approach enemy units more quickly; the Protoss have added a new "immortal" unit, which can deploy a special shield when hit by heavy attacks, causing only minor damage from Terran Siege Tanks. Another Protoss ground unit, the "Stalker," can teleport over long distances, allowing the Protoss to gather a large army anywhere on the map using this ability and newly developed "phase shields."
The Protoss' new air unit, the "Phoenix," can charge its weapons to cause area-of-effect damage but will temporarily become paralyzed afterward. Another air unit, the "Warprey," can use a continuous blue laser to extend the time a target is damaged.
**Zerg**
The Zerglings can evolve into suicide bombers, followed by impressive explosions on the screen.
The video showed a scene of "Phoenix" engaging in aerial combat with Terran battleships, while on the ground, Terran infantry were engaged in close combat with Protoss Zealots. About 100 combat units appeared on the screen at once, with no noticeable change in frame rate. Some newly introduced Protoss units also joined the battle, interspersed with nuclear launch detection alerts ("nuclear launch detected", sounds familiar?), followed by three nuclear bombs landing, wiping out all units.
After the combat video was played, there was a presentation video reflecting the game's artistic concept group images, showcasing magnificent scenes of war ruins (similar to the previous version); then an army composed of more than 100 Zerglings charged toward the distance, ending the video with the "StarCraft II" logo.
So far, no release date has been announced.
